- So what are the new v2 features!? Oh, where to start... I've worked on this release for hours upon hours, and I'm thrilled to announce a lot of new features: * Completely rewritten and optimized. The code has been drastically reworked both client- and server-side. YShout now works better and faster. * Smileys. YShout now has smileys, yay! * Better flood control. Instead of disabling the text boxes, YShout now only disables the button, allowing you to continue typing while the flood control is active. * Admin login. You can now login and administer YShout. You can view message information, and ban/unban people easily. * Better refreshing. Rather than reloading the entire contents of the shoutbox each refresh, YShout now only sends you the latest updates, drastically decreasing bandwidth usage. * History Viewer. It's finally here, albeit with only basic functionality. You can view the shoutbox history in an easy-to-read format. To view history, just go to http://example.com/path/to/yshoout.php?history, replacing the URL with the path to your yshout.php file. * Unicode support. I'm still not *entirely* sure about this one, but I'm pretty sure I finally got unicode working! * Curseword filter. You can now choose to replace curses with asterisks. * And more. - Edit text files the easy way. Join or split files while adding, deleting or replacing text, change to upper or lower case, capitalise all words or the start of all lines, add text to the start or end of lines, remove leading or trailing spaces, add or remove blank lines, remove text blocks, alphabetise lines in file(s), split files at specified lines or text or into a specified number of files, works on multiple files and on files of unlimited size. I wrote this for my own use after I couldn't find a program to do what I wanted, it's extremely easy to use with a simple interface.

- The Price Of Freedom
- This is an EBook of my Father's War Diary, it is on-line from my home page but I thought that I'd also make it available for everyone to download. My father was in the British Royal Artillery and was taken prisoner by the Japanese after the fall of Singapore in February 1942. He was a P.O.W. for three and a half years in the infamous Changi P.O.W. camp and also on the "Death Railway" in Burma, while there he managed to keep a diary hidden from the Japanese, so this is his story which I think needs to be told.
